Florida MIECHV will sponsor a three-part series to help home visitors and other providers help families obtain health insurance coverage and stay healthy:
Text4baby is the nation’s only FREE mobile information service designed to promote maternal and child health through text messaging. Text4baby provides pregnant women and moms of babies under one with three free text messages per week containing expert health tips and safety information timed to their due date or baby’s birth date. Currently, the messages disseminated to subscribers in the state of Florida have been customized to include Florida specific resources, including but not limited to: the Access Florida Hotline, Florida WIC and a link to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) provider search. Manny Fermin, President of the Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions and CEO for the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami –Dade (HSCMD), will share how the HSCMD has implemented techniques, which have become best practices to promote the Text4baby program.
