The State CQI Team met August 21st to review a first draft of the Florida MIECHV CQI Plan. The plan provides an overview of continuous quality improvement activities for the home visiting initiative at the state and community level. It incorporates the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) approach to rapid cycle tests of change and Lean Thinking to increase program efficiency. Promoting and supporting continuous quality improvement is a key component of the MIECHV initiative.
CQI Team members also heard updates on the implementation of the HRSA Home Visiting Collaborative Improvement & Innovation Network (CoIIN). Two Florida MIECHV sites in Jacksonville and Pinellas County are participating in the national effort. The sites are working on CQI projects to impact breastfeeding duration and development surveillance screening and linkage to services.
